The Tutorial level is the first playable section of Vexx, teaching the player how to play the game. The level takes place as a dream within Vexx's mind. It is here that the Astani War Talons instruct and speak to him on how to use War Talons effectively, and explain his mission to him, and how he must defeat Dark Yabu, thus successfully freeing his grandfather's soul and saving Astara. It appears to be a surreal purple void with metallic platforms, floating cubes, and many needle-like spires. Vexx learns about combat, swimming, and platforming, as well as collecting Shards, Soul Jars, and Wraithhearts, effectively preparing him for the world waiting.

- This is the first and only time that the Astani War Talons are known to speak to Vexx.
- The tutorial can be skipped entirely by opening the pause menu and selecting "Quit Dream."
